1.MAXIMA AQUAFUN
If you’ve got a day to spare, a visit to Maxima Aquafun should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Davao. I have colds so I ended up staying in the boat with the rest of Davao bloggers while others had snorkeling around the San Jose Wall which provided an incredible close up look for the local marine life. Located on the Island Garden City of Samal Maxia Aqua Fun offers plenty of water fun. Swim or Snorkel over corals that feature diverse sea life.
2.CHRIST THE KING CATHEDRAL
It was a nice experience coming to this cathedral attending the mass for the first time and some other times, attending a wedding twice. But only lately when i went around the vicinity of this beautiful and serene place of worship that i saw its exceptional beauty. The back portion is like a castle different from the facade. This was made at around a decade ago and it is now becoming a popular destination for visitors not only for attending the mass but also to see the unique features within the compound. The biggest rosary i have ever seen. The House of Prayer, This Temple of Worship, The Home in which the Faithful are nourished by God’s Word and Sacraments. Tagumeños dedicated this church to the glory of the king of kings. The cathedral stands in a two(2)- hectare land situated in the Southern part of Tagum City. The heirs of the late Dr. & Mrs. Juan Gonzales donated the land. 3.WORLD’S LARGEST ROSARY
Discover Largest Rosary in the World in Tagum, Philippines: This massive Roman Catholic rosary is composed entirely of wood. castle-like Christ the King Cathedral in the city of Tagum is considered the largest rosary in the world. The 280 foot (85.5 meters) long rosary is made of linked beads that each weigh around 77 pounds (35 kilograms). The beads were cut and sculpted from Magcono trees that are native to the mountains around this region. The rosary is laid out in the park with a giant sculpture of Jesus. The giant rosary was originally intended to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the local archdiocese in 2005.
4.GAISANO MALL
Gaisano Mall of Tagum, Tagum City. The DSG Sons Group is a major retail player operating for more than 30 years in the Philippine retail industry. branded as GMall of Davao, is a major shopping mall located along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City, Philippines, part of the Gaisano Malls operated by DSG Sons Group, Inc. with a gross land area of 182,020 m2 (1,959,200 sq ft), and a total floor area of 240,605 m2 (2,589,850 sq ft) including the multilevel car park building. It is the largest of more than 40 Gaisano malls in the Philippines and the largest mall in Davao City and in Mindanao.[2] It has six floors of shops, arcades, food hall, theater with eight cinemas, and home to The Peak, located in the top of the mall. Tens of thousands of customers shop in the mall daily.
5.NCCC MALL
NCCC Mall Tagum is the second mall built by NCCC Group and the oldest mall located in Tagum City in the Philippines. The mall opened in 2000. The mall also caters to neighboring towns of Tagum City. On January 16, 2016, an incident occurred; a group of 9 people attempted to rob two jewelry shops within the mall. has been a household name in Davao City for the past four decades. From what was once a textile store, it has now established itself as a major player in the retail industry, going head-to-head with some of the country’s largest retail companies.
6.SAN AGUSTIN BOTANICAL PARK
It is an excellent plan initiated by the city government to have a botanical park. Even at this time it is already visible and one can enjoy the cool breeze and gentle wind up there. There are already good roads and some gazebos and pathways. The total area has yet to be attended to for the completion of this project. The project is targeted to be finished in year 2020. These days a little portion of some hectares out of the total area has been improved and is already a beauty to see. Located in the rural barangay of San Agustin, just a mere 15-minute ride from the city proper, is the Tagum Botanical Park. Solely developed by the City Government of Tagum, the 50-hectare park is brimming with lush greeneries, with tropical trees of different varieties planted in its hills. The sprawling park has several gazebos perfect for family picnics and gathering and will soon feature a zipline and trails for both biking and hiking. The Tagum Botanical Park is good alternative to the well-known and well-loved Energy Park, another city-developed nature park in Barangay Apokon.
7.FREEDOM PARK
Just walking distance from home, it’s a place where you can just sit and relax and observe people. It is lined with food stalls selling street foods. The improvement of the Freedom Park include the provision of new amenities and ensuring that the public open space project is made more green and revitalizing for both the residents and non-residents in Tagum; a walkable link between the Freedom Park and the Rotary Park will also be provided. The recognition of being part of the first batch of cities to become the national government’s recipient of the said assistance program came about in relation to the City of Tagum having public open space projects which include the revamping of the Freedom Park that will later on form part of what the City Architect’s Office call as the “City Walk.”
8.ROBINSONS PLACE
Robinsons Place Tagum Leading mall developer, Robinsons Malls, is building a premium shopping center at Davao Del Norte’s capital city of Tagum, named by the Asian Institute of Management as one of the seven leading cities to do business in the Philippines. Already the developer’s fourth mall in Mindanao, Robinsons Place Tagum is being constructed at the city’s National Highway, in an area close to residential subdivisions, universities, hospitals, as well as corporate and government centers. The development will be a sprawling 57,000 square meter complex that will house four levels of shopping, dining and entertainment establishments.
9.MONFORT BAT SANCTUARY
Monfort Bat Sanctuary has been the house of a large colony of 2.3 million Rousette fruit bats since recorded history. They cover 75% of the ceilings and walls of their 245 ft-long cave. The sanctuary is located on Samal Island, about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) east of Davao City, Philippines. According to Guinness World Records, it is the largest single colony of this kind
